As people of the United Methodist Church, we welcome you with Open Minds, Open Hearts and Open Doors! Our mission at New World UMC is to Love God, Love Neighbor, Make Disciples. Jesus calls us to make disciples. We want to help disciples grow in their walk with Jesus, as we walk the way of Jesus together. Jesus calls us to live in love, mercy, and compassion as agents of God’s reconciling love and grace.
To make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
To be and grow a community of faith transformed by the love of Jesus. We are transformed by worship, witness, and community. In all we say and do, we live our lives in engagement with the call of Jesus.
Worship is the undeniable need for all who call Jesus our Lord! We come together on Sunday when our faith community gathers for worship, praise, and thanksgiving. We worship during holy times such as Easter and Christmas. We worship in our lives continually as we seek God in prayer and learn the ways of Christ when we read scripture. Each of us is called to experience the spiritual formation that consistent worship gives us.
Jesus calls us to live in the world. Jesus said, “I am not asking you to take them out of the world… As you have sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world.” (John 17:15,18) We are engaged in a movement to witness to the love of Jesus. Our role is not to withdraw from the world around us, but to see the ways in which every part of our lives bears witness to the life we have in Jesus.
Community means shared connection in the Body of Christ. People of all ages search for a sense of community as they look to engage life in a local church. Community is also tied to our mission. New World is not focused on the needs of our church. New World’s focus is to know the needs of our community as we learn how God wants us to serve.
