Wednesdays from 7:30-8:30pm in the Fellowship Hall
The Chancel Choir ministers weekly at the 10:50am worship service. Repertoire is taken from traditional church music such as: Bach, Handel, Thompson, and Shaw; contemporary church music composers like: Mark Hayes, Joseph Martin and Cindy Berry; and even some Broadway and Pop selections that are secular but have sacred value.
During the Advent/Christmas season, the Chancel Choir prepares special worship events with orchestra to celebrate the season. Similarly, the Chancel Choir prepares special worship events during the Lent/Easter season to highlight the occasion.
No audition is necessary to be part of the Chancel Choir and all levels of singers are welcome! For more information, please contact Steven Couch.
Rehearsals vary and are held in the Sanctuary
The Way leads worship at the 9:30am service most weeks. This “rock” style band selects music from the most Contemporary Christian resources available as well as some pop songs. In addition to playing and singing, The Way also acts as worship leaders for the contemporary worship service, reading scripture and leading prayer. For more information, please contact Steven Couch.
Hands & Feet Youth Praise Band
Sundays from 4:30-5:30pm in the Sanctuary
Hands & Feet is comprised of singers and musicians from our youth department ranging from 7th grade to Seniors in High School. Hands & Feet ministers once a month in the 9:30am contemporary worship service. The music is selected from Contemporary Christian, Broadway and popular music.
Hands & Feet takes a yearly tour in the summer for one week where they minister to people in Youth and Children’s Centers, Adult Long-term Care Facilities and various churches.

Good News Children’s Choir
Good News is comprised of children 1st grade through 6th grade. They are sometimes divided by upper elementary and lower elementary grades for special events and/or songs. Good News ministers at all worship services for different events during the year. Children learn musical terms, music reading skills, complex rhythms and begin to learn music from the United Methodist Church and other music resources.
Good News also creates a special event each spring that includes staging, costumes and drama. For more information, please contact Steven Couch.
Wednesdays from 2:30-3:20pm in the Adult Education Wing
The Preschool Choir is open to any child of 3 or 4 years. The Preschool Choir is also made up of children from the New World Preschool. This group has a snack at 2:30 and then proceeds to a rehearsal room for music time. Children learn singing concepts, rhythm concepts and rhythm instruments as well as movement and musical terms. The Preschool Choir ministers in worship at least four times per year and participates with the Good News Choir in the spring event. For more information, please contact Steven Couch.
Exaltation Handbell Choir
Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30pm & Thursdays from 7:30-8:30 in the Sanctuary
Exaltation Handbells is comprised of adults and youth. They minister regularly at all worship services and special events. The choir rings on the church’s 5-octave (C3-C8) set of Malmark Handbells and 4-octave (G3-G7) set of Malmark Handchimes.
Directed by Steven Couch, the choir performs a large variety of repertoire, both sacred and secular from leading handbell composers and arrangers. All skill levels are welcome! For more information, please contact Steven Couch.
New World has a team of ushers that serve at each worship service and special events. These dedicated men and women greet people at the sanctuary entrance, pass out any materials for that service or event, take up the offering, put out the registration forms and provide assistance to congregants or guests as needed. New World UMC incorporates multimedia on large screens in our sanctuary for worship services and special events. We use special software designed for worship service presentation. Presentations are created each week for all worship services by the New World staff to be projected by volunteers in each separate worship service. Special skills are not required for this ministry.
